(1899-1936) Movie executive. As the number two man under Louis B Mayer, he controlled the artistic policies of MGM. He produced many films including 'Grand Hotel', 'Mutiny On The Bounty', and 'The Good Earth'. The Lifetime Achievement Award given each year at the Oscars is named after him. This item is a signed check made out to and endorsed by John M. Stahl who produced, directed and wrote 'Imitation of Life'. There is some damage along the center of the check, that is visible in the scan.
