This very valuable lot contains the signatures of Civil Rights activists. Included are the following items: 1. a 3.5x4.5 paper signed by the 1964 Nobel Peace Prize recipient Martin Luther King Jr. (1929-1968), 2. a 3x5 card signed by James Earl Ray (1928–1998) - the man who assassinated Martin Luther King, 5. a typed letter dated January 18, 1991, measuring 8.5x11 signed by Rosa Parks (1913-2005). There are folds from the original mailing and some minor bends in the corners. 4. the signature of Ralph D. Abernathy (1926-1990) on a 4x7 piece of his personal note paper (the page has a light fold), 5. a hand written note signed by Stokeley Carmichael (Kwame Toure) dated January 2, 1980 (there are folds from the original mailing and some minor border wear).
