(1914-2005) US Military Leader who commanded US forces in Vietnam as they gradually expanded from a few thousand to over half a million. This lot has two items. The first is an original 8x11.75 Associated Press b/w news wire photograph from July 2nd, 1968 of Westmoreland meeting with President Johnson at the White House. The second item is a brief ANS from the collector who sent the photo to Westmoreland to sign. At the bottom of the note, he wrote 'I would like to have a copy of the photograph. Many thanks! W.C. Westmoreland'.
